Girlfriends,
As the adventurous, smart and ever-changing women that we are, we recognize that
there are moments where we have the opportunity to invite new friends into our circles,
into our lives. Frequently a move to another city, a career switch, an interest
in a new activity, a shift in values or a change in our relationship status encourages
us to broaden that circle so that our current journey can be enriched.
What make GirlFriendsCircles.com unique and easy is that we connect
the women who join into ConnectingCircles-groups of four to six women who meet one
another in a neighborhood cafe. You don’t have to choose your friends from a picture
and a paragraph (how many of us would have chosen our current friends if that was
all we had?) Nor do you have to hang out at a happy hour mixer, making small talk
and trying to network your way into friendships. The truth is that most of us connect
with a wide variety of people based on chemistry, authenticity and shared experience.
We remove the awkwardness and pressure of one-on-one attempts by providing logistics
(date, time, place), structure (some suggested topics through 'sharing questions'),
and most importantly, women (with the shared goal of expanding their circle of friends).
Additionally, we offer three more opportunities for you to create and expand
your circle: CalendarCircles (one-time events such as local concerts,
museum trip, festivals, movies), ClassifiedCircles (the opportunity to find specific
friends such as someone else going through a divorce, a married girlfriend who wants
to double date with you and your husband or someone who knows all the best thrift
stores in town!) and ChooseMyCircles (the ability to search for friends, browse
profiles and initiate connections!)
I thank the many girlfriends in my life. They are a varied group— a twenty-five
year age spread between the youngest and the oldest. Some are looking for their
mates, others loving their mates and still others leaving their mates. Some earn
next-to-nothing working for causes they believe in, others are making six-figures
to give to the causes they believe in. Some are mothers, some expecting to be and
others who are living life fully without kids. Their personalities couldn’t be more
diverse. Their backgrounds more varied. Or their lifestyles more assorted. But I
love them all. And thank them for sharing pieces of their lives with me. I am a
better girlfriend for it.
Looking forward to more meaningful friendships,
Shasta Nelson
