Safety Tips
Thanks to our grandma’s who clip out safety articles to send us about not walking
alone in dark parking lots, we all know that we shouldn’t take our safety for granted.
GirlfriendCircles.com created our system with high goals of creating as safe of
a culture as possible. However, it is always wise to remember that you are meeting
strangers and to be cautious as you’re developing the friendships:
- Never assume people are who they say they are: Because our site
makes people meet in groups before they have access to our community, we hope to
decrease the opportunity for people to lie about gender, age and intent. However,
keep in mind that there are many reasons for people to lie about things so be cautious
as trust is being developed.
- Keep your personal information safe: We provide a way for you
to keep in touch with your new friends through our website so we strongly encourage
you not to give out your contact information too soon.
- Make sure people know where you are: It’s always wise to tell
someone where you’re going and what time you expect to be home.
- Find your own transportation: It’s tempting to share rides, but
avoid it at all costs until you feel completely safe.
- Be alert to unhealthy behaviors: Some behaviors are risky to relationships
and we’re better off finding that out sooner rather than later. Be cautious of anyone
who has a sob story about needing money, asks inappropriate questions, seems vague
or inconsistent in their answers, tends to blame everyone else for problems, thinks
you shouldn’t listen to your gut or seems clingy and desperate.
Please report any concerns to GirlfriendCircles
so we can monitor the situation and take appropriate actions. We value the safety
of our community more than anything and will do what we can to ensure that we attract
and retain quality girlfriends!
